On August 24, NCIR is delighted to welcome back our longtime friend, Prof. Carlito Jr. Salonga Ponseca from the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) in Kuwait, for a seminar and a laboratory tour. Having previously participated in our International Scientific Instrument Technology Workshop (ISITW), Prof. Ponseca built a strong bond with our colleagues. Returning years later, he delivers a fascinating seminar titled "One electron, three magnets: how d-count rewrites ultrafast optical fingerprints of spin-orbit entanglement in TMPS₃ Mott Insulators," sharing insights into Ultrafast Spin-Orbit Quantum Dynamics in Mott insulators. The seminar sparks engaging discussions and enthusiastic exchanges among our colleagues.

Following the seminar, Prof. Ponseca toured NCIR's advanced materials processing technology laboratory for Semiconductors, catching up with colleagues and discussing the latest developments in materials technology—laying a promising foundation for future international research collaborations.
